Toddler's Classes (Ages 18 months-3 1/2)
These classes emphasize creative movement as well as basic dance steps and technique. Props such as drum sticks, ribbons, balls and hula hoops are used to encourage musicality.
Pre-schooler's Classes (Ages 3-5)
At this age, students are able to retain more information from week to week than they were able to during their toddler years. Therefore, basic steps are re-introduced and repeated for maximum retention.
*Dancers must have taken at least 1 year of B/T/J 3-5 in order to enroll in B/T/J 4-6.
6-8 Year Old Classes
These classes are designed to continue the skills learned in the pre-school division. Combinations are introduced as well as other forms of dance including: praise dance and hip-hop.
9+ Year Old Classes
These classes are designed to continue the skills learned in the 6-8 year old division as well as emphasizing the importance of strength, placement, stamina and memorization. Designed for the more seasoned dancer, combinations are longer, more complex and require the use of the entire body. The study of ballet is a must for this age level. New forms of dance are introduced as well, including: modern, musical theatre, and lyrical.

Mirror Image has developed a pre-school which is balanced both academically and socially, and includes a comprehensive dance program. Our goal is to teach in a fun, yet structured environment. We hope your child will have a great preschool experience and will remember Mirror Image fondly for years to come!

Deanna Gallardo , Owner and Director, has been a dancer since the age of 11, teaching for most of her life. She was born and raised in Northwest Indiana, studying with area studios and choreographers. She has been a student of dance professionals such as Mandy Moore, Nick Lazzarini, Doug Caldwell, and Joe Lanteri, to name a few. Deanna has taught and performed in various venues, even as far away as Denmark and the former Soviet Union. She is passionate about the education, physical development, and spiritual development of her students, and with a heart for children, she teaches levels from 18 months and up. "I always knew I would be working with kids," she adds, "they are so genuine--they make me laugh everyday!" Deanna is also the director of the Mirror Image Dance Academy Preschool, which she founded in 2005--the first of its kind. Deanna holds degrees in English and Business from Indiana University, and is also a professional photographer. She lives in Valpo with her husband and love of her life, Dave, and their two children, Jordan and Kamryn.
Danielle Carter , Instructor, has been dancing since the age of 3. Receiving her dance education from the American Dance Center, an award-winning studio in Illinois, she has been taught by some of the best in dance including: Savion Glover and Wilfredo Rivera. Her training includes classical ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical and her specialty-modern. Throughout her teens she danced with members of the Joel Hall Dancers, Hubbard Street and Joffery Ballet. She was presented the unique chance to perform at Disneyland, an opportunity that lead to an invitation to become a member of the Young Americans, a performance group based in Los Angeles, CA. Danielle holds both a Bachelor's and Master's Degree from Valparaiso University, in her other specialty, English. She performs throughout the Chicagoland Area with the Generations Dance Troupe, a company based in Hammond. This is her fifth year teaching at MIDA and she LOVES every minute of it. She lives in Chesterton with her fiance, James.
Paige Dahlgren cannot remember a time when she wasn't dancing. Beginning at just 2 1/2 years old, she has always had a deep love of dance. After moving to Valparaiso 10 years ago, she began dancing at Mirror Image. During this time she has been trained in all types of dance including her personal favorite, tap. Currently a member of Mirror Image's Performing Company, Paige has had the opportunity to dance at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida and to compete in various competitions throughout the Midwest. In addition to dancing, Paige is a senior at Valparaiso High School and is a member of the National Honors Society and HOPE club. In the futue, she plans to continue dancing during college while studying pre-med.
Ali Meyer has been dancing at Mirror Image Dance Academy for 6 years. She has been a member of the Performing Company for 3 years and has won several "Best of Show" and "Judge's Choice" awards during her time as a competition team member. She has even had the distinct honor of performing at Walt Disney World in Orland, Florida. A graduate of Mirror Image's Teacher Training Program, she currently teaches in the 6-8 year old division while maintaining a full load of classes of her own. A sophomore at Valparaiso High School, she is excited to share her love of dance with her students.
Kathleen Prahlow has been dancing since the age of 4 and is a member of Mirror Image's Performing Company. As part of the company, she spends many hours each week at the studio studying all types of dance. Over the next few years, she hopes to continue and expand her dance education throughout the remainder of high school and college. A junior at Valparaiso High School, Kathleen wishes to share her love of dance with younger students at Mirror Image.
Amanda Kersker is a fourth generation performer. She began dancing at age 4 in her birth town of Cincinnati, Ohio. At 9, she and her family moved to Valparaiso to start a church. Since then, Amanda's training in all types of dance has only increased her love for the art. She has performed with the Performing Company for four years and competed for three. She has also performed at many venues including Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida and Six Flags Great America. Now, through the coaching of Mirror Image, Amanda is beginning to enjoy her childhood dream of being a dance instructor. Amanda is a high school senior and is excited about her future in dance.

A TWO HOUR PARTY INCLUDES:
* A decorated birthday cake and candles
* Juice boxes
* All paper and tableware
* Decorations and clean up
* Party bags for the birthday child and each guest
For the birthday child and up to 10 guests, the cost is only $125.00. Each additional guest is only $5.00!
After opening presents and eating birthday cake, the children will be taught a dance by two of our senior dancers. The parents are then invited back 15 minutes before the party ends to watch their kids perform the routine they've learned!!!

In January 2013, we will be participating in the Orange Bowl Halftime Show (New Year's Day!) in MIAMI, FLORIDA!!! This will be an exciting week filled with Master dance classes, a showcase and a chance to meet fellow dancers from around the country! And we will also dance in the 2013 Orange Bowl Halftime Show that airs on live television!!!! Don't miss it!
Those wishing to be a part of this once in a lifetime opportunity should sign-up for Performing Company by June 1st. We must start fundraising as soon as possible and remember: this is a 2 year commitment-but it will be well worth it when we're in Miami and dancing on television!!!!
